Some individuals associate the color green with illness. This is because people are often described as looking quite green when they are not feeling well, especially when they are feeling nauseous.
However, there are also a number of people who believe that green is the color of good fortune.
This newborn puppy named Pistachio has light green skin. Pistachio is the sole green member of a family of five. All his other siblings are white in color.
When Pistachio’s father first saw him, he was stunned. He started to lick Pistachio immediately in the hopes that he would be similar to his siblings. No matter how hard Pistachio’s father tried, the puppy’s color remained green.
Spelacchia, Pistachio’s mother, felt similarly about her son’s color. Despite this, the mother dog did her best to ensure that she cared for him like she does with all her other pups.
Christian Mallocci is the owner of Spelacchia, and he decided to investigate Pistachio’s case.
Thankfully, the fur parent discovered articles on dogs who also had green puppies. In the past, incidents similar to the Pistachio case have already happened. In Brazil, a Great Dane also gave birth to a green puppy. Additionally, another dog in Italy gave birth to a green puppy.
Based on the explanations, the puppy’s green color is because of biliverdin, a green pigment. The biliverdin is present in the uterus of the mother dog. This green color is identical to the one that is seen when human skin is bruised. According to various published articles, the color of the puppies will change from green to white as time passes.
Christian was disappointed by this news, yet he continues to believe that Pistachio brings good fortune to their family.
Christian intends to keep Pistachio while giving the other puppies to his friends. He decided to do this because he wants to ensure that they get the best care possible.
An Italian farmer could not believe his eyes when one of his eight dogs gave birth to a green-furred puppy. The tiny dog named Pistachio was part of a five-dog litter born on Oct. 9, all with white fur, the same color as their mixed breed mum – except him https://t.co/ZGZxIRxRxS pic.twitter.com/93vFX8mTFk
