A friendly and beautiful Weimaraner/Stafforshire terrier mix is looking for a new place to call home in Utah.
Theodosia, a seven-year-old pup, is ‘the perfect sidekick for anyone’, according to the Best Friends Animal Society’s Sanctuary.
The staff at the sanctuary described Theodosia as a sweet and friendly girl who wants to greet everyone she meets, despite her serious expression in her photo.

“Upon her arrival, the dog quickly won the hearts of staff and volunteers with her love, tail wags, and kisses for everyone she met,” said the staff at Best Friends Animal Society’s Sanctuary.
According to the shelter, Theodosia still enjoys her walks despite suffering from mild arthritis and likes to relax on comfortable beds.
“She is currently staying in one of the ‘dogtown’ offices, where she keeps an eye on the staff. She loves going for leisurely strolls and car rides,” staff at the shelter said.
As it turns out, Theodosia is also quite the ‘fashionista’.

Why Not Adopt A Dog This Year?
“The New Year is a great time to adopt or foster a pet,” the Best Friends Animal Society said.
In addition to offering companionship, adopting a new pet in January can help with your other New Year’s resolutions.
For example, one of the most common New Year’s resolutions is to get healthier. If you adopt a dog, it requires you to walk and play with them everyday, helping you achieve your resolution.
“Walking at a quick pace for just half an hour, five times a week, can provide you with the intensive cardiovascular exercise recommended by most physicians,” the staff said.

Another common New Year’s resolution is to be more mindful, such as controlling their emotions or stress better. A pet can help you achieve that too.
Research has found that spending quality time with your pets reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, and eases loneliness and depression.
Tough 2022 For Shelters
“National data trends show that 2022 has been a tough year for shelters. Shelters all over the country are receiving more and more unwanted animals with the number of adoptions and foster homes struggling to keep up.”
And this is bad for pets.
A lack of adoptions or fosters at pet shelters means that more animals are living in overcrowded shelters and may not receive the proper care, love, and attention that they need. This can lead to psychological and physical problems for the animals involved, such as depression, stress, and physical ailments due to lack of exercise and proper nutrition.
Additionally, overcrowding at shelters can lead to the spread of diseases, which can be detrimental to the health of the animals in the shelter.
All of this means that the shelters are forced to euthanize some of the animals to control the number of animals at their shelter due to a lack of resources.
So why not have “adopt a rescue dog” as one of your resolutions for this year?
