It was the first time Brownie has ever been in a home. Before spending two weeks in foster care with the Analore family, Brownie’s main residence was at shelters.
Brownie was initially from a shelter in New Mexico. After four adoption attempts fell through, Brownie was given another chance at a shelter in Colorado. However, while he was waiting for transportation, he needed a place to stay temporarily. That’s when Analore and her family stepped in to help.

The first few days were rough for the young pup as Brownie wasn’t used to living in a home environment. However, he quickly learned the ins and outs of being house-trained and within a few days, Brownie learned how to communicate with his new family. Once he realised he was safe and was surrounded by love, Brownie slowly transformed into a loving pet.
“Initially, he was terrified and wasn’t sure what to do,” Mollu Analore recalls. “But now he’s found his voice. He would alert me that he needed to use the bathroom by sitting by the door and cry, for example.”
Analore quickly learned how Brownie would communicate for everyday activities. However, one night, Brownie did something strange and peculiar.
Instead of alerting his foster mom that he needed something, Brownie tried to tell Analore that she was the one in need of help.
Analore started to experience bouts of fainting and dizziness just before she started fostering Brownie. And on one of the nights Analore started to feel unwell, Brownie was there as well. And the intelligent pup sensed something was wrong immediately.

“He was never a fan of cuddling,” Analore said. “However, on that night when I was feeling unwell he jumped onto the couch and snuggled up next to me.”
“I thought to myself that it was a little strange, but didn’t think too much of it. So I just sat on the couch and cuddled him for a while.”
After a while, Analore, still not feeling well, decided to go lie down in her bed. Brownie did not let Analore out of his sight, which was strange as he normally kept a distance from his foster mom.
“When I went to lie on my bed, Brownie was outside the door barking his head off, headbutting the door, and scratching at him profusely. That’s not normal for him,” Analore said.
“It was almost as if he was trying to say, ‘something’s not right, so let me in to help you.’”
Confused by his odd behaviour, Analore got out of her bed to let his foster pup inside the room.
“He immediately jumped onto my bed and laid down beside me with his head on my chest,” Analore said. “After a while, once my heart stopped racing and I began to feel better, Brownie simply got up and left.”

Strange Behaviour
According to Analore, this was the first time that Brownie had ever exhibited this behaviour.
“He did it all on his own. He’s such a good boy and I know that he’ll make his new parents proud,” Analore said.
After spending two weeks with the Analore family, Brownie was picked up and transported to his shelter in Colorado as originally planned. He’s currently in a new foster home through his new shelter, but Analore wants to bring him back home for good.
“A dog like him only comes around once in a lifetime. The connection we had was so strong, stronger than anything I’ve felt before.”
