A woman named Shelly Blount came across an online post about a dog in North Carolina that was scheduled to be euthanized. She contacted the shelter immediately and, to her relief, she was informed that the dog had been adopted.
Shelly asked if anyone was slated to be euthanized after realizing that there may be more canines in peril. The shelter personnel informed her that Caleb was next in line. With that knowledge, Shelly and her friend drove four hours from Virginia to the shelter in order to save the dog.
The woman learned upon their arrival that two other canines were also to be euthanized. As a result, she chose to bring the three of them home. Shelly chose to save the three dogs despite the fact that she already has three rescue dogs at home.
According to Shelly, she asked whether there is a maximum number of canines that can be adopted from the shelter. They informed her that there was none, so she decided to adopt all of them.
Shelly was expecting that she would be leaving the shelter only with Caleb that day. Butt she went home instead with three dogs – Caleb, Charisma, and Bella.
The three dogs were ecstatic as their new owner drove them home. Caleb’s tail was always wagging as he showered his mother with love. Bella was thrilled to sit on Shelly’s friend’s lap. On the other hand, Charisma would not let go of Shelly. She even fell asleep while clutching her until they reached their new home.
Shelly did not have a plan for her three newly adopted pets when she adopted them. She did not have space for them in her home. But she knew that she could not allow them to be euthanized.
Fortunately, Shelly was able to find new homes for Caleb and Bella just days after she brought them home. Caleb now resides contentedly in the care of Shelly’s buddy. Caleb enjoys playing with a Labrador there. Bella was taken in by Shelly’s boyfriend, and they have been inseparable ever since.
Charisma is likely to remain with Shelly because they have already built a strong bond. In addition, Shelly discovered that this dog was pregnant, giving her another reason to care for her.
