A Wisconsin man has finally been reunited with his dog that had been missing for two years. It happened after he noticed a dog on a TV news segment about pets that looked very similar to his own. And it was all a happy accident.
The owner of the missing dog, Dwight, normally doesn’t sleep with the TV on. However, whether it’s down to luck or fate, he forgot to turn off his TV. The next morning, Dwight woke up to a TV segment called Adopt-A-Pet. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing on the screen.
It was his dog Payday, who had been missing for nearly two years.
At that point, Dwight and his family had considered that Payday was gone for good. Originally, Payday had been brought into Dwight’s family as a companion for his twelve year old daughter, who was devastated when Payday went missing. After searching for Payday for months and months, they resigned to the fact that he was gone forever.
After noticing the eerily similar dog on his TV screen, Dwight reached out to the Wisconsin Humane Society in the hopes that the dog was actually Payday. Turns out, it was. Dwight’s parents picked up Payday later on in the day, and the pup was reunited with the rest of the family later that same day. Finally, the family was whole again.
Melissa, Dwight’s mother, was very anxious when she went and picked up Payday, unsure if the puppy still remembered her. As it turns out, Payday had not forgotten about Melissa or the rest of the family. The joyous reunion was captured on tape by the Wisconsin Humane Society. In the video, an exuberant Payday raced across the room and jumped into Melissa’s arms, both of them unable to contain their excitement.
