The McKamey Animal Center is understandably enraged with what happened to a dog named Miss Brighteyes. They have put up a substantial reward to any person who can give crucial information leading to the arrest of the heartless person who abused her. In fact, they have increased the reward money several times just so more people would be enticed to come out with the info.
Miss Brighteyes is a dog estimated to be around one to three years old. They gave her that name because she has a bright and expressive face. But she didn’t always have that. When she was first brought to the local Chattanooga shelter, she was scared and anxious. She only came out of her shell when she realized that she was safe.
Life of abuse
Not much is known about the abused dog’s past. She was taken to the shelter because a woman called them and told them about a little pup that wandered into her porch. What was disturbing was that the dog’s snout was tightly tied with electrical tape. She also had a twine rope around her neck.
Rescuers from the shelter immediately went to the caller’s house and retrieved the tiny pooch. She was then taken to a vet. A medical team gently removed the tape. Luckily for Miss Brighteyes, there was no permanent damage, and the swelling died down after a few days.
The medical team also said that the dog might have lived a life of abuse and neglect with her previous owners. She was skinny and had lots of fleas and ticks.
Thriving beautifully
Miss Brighteyes was brought to a foster home. In just a few days, the fearful dog completely transformed. She became very happy and active. She loves playing with the other animals staying there as well. As there is still an ongoing investigation, she will not be put up for adoption yet.
