A young man living in Los Angeles went home one night to find that a dog was sitting in his small doorway. Apparently, he didn’t close his gate properly, and the dog went in seeking refuge.
The kind homeowner saw that the pooch was injured and allowed him to stay right where he was. He even got the stray some food and water.
The very next day, knowing that there was not much help that he could give, the young man called a California-based rescue organization and asked them if they could rescue the homeless pooch. They agreed, and he waited by the dog’s side until the rescuers arrived.
Infected foot
The good-hearted homeowner met the rescuers and led them to the dog. The rescue team approached the stray who then started to show signs of fear. He started shivering and tried to back up. Thankfully, the experienced rescuers knew exactly what to do.
They fished out a tasty cheeseburger and started feeding him. They also took their time to get near him. Patience was the key. Eventually, they were able to establish trust, and the dog allowed them to touch him.
Because the dog was injured, they had to put him in a crate and carry the large animal to their vehicle. While he was being transported, there was a huge smile on the dog’s face. It was as if he already knew that things are starting to get better for him.
Looking for a forever family
The dog, who they then named Fila, was taken to a vet. After a thorough check-up and diagnosis, they learned that the dog had various infections and inflammations in his leg, which made it quite painful for him to move. Luckily, he didn’t have any broken bones.
Fila was placed in a foster home, where he continued his treatments. And as time passed, he started healing physically and mentally. He began enjoying his new life and learned how it is to be a pet. He is now more than ready to become a part of a family.
