Cherie’s life has been pretty peachy. Her family has definitely made it their mission to give her the best life possible. They shower her with belly rubs, treats, and even lets her enjoy long afternoon naps.
Recently, though, Cherie found herself in a situation where she finally had to let her inner guard dog out. But of course, for someone who lived such a sheltered life, that could not just happen in a split second. Cherie knew she needed a second, so she took her sweet time.
Cherie was with her mom, Kay Hawkins, at their home in Texas when they saw an unexpected guest lounging by the porch. That visitor was a “scary” bobcat, and he was cleaning himself casually at Cherie’s property. It was as if the bobcat owned the place.
Although she has never been the confrontational type, Cherie still felt the need to set the bobcat straight. She did not want further misunderstandings to happen. So, after spending about a minute to muster up the courage to stand her ground, Cherie anxiously spoke up and let out a nervous “woof.”
The first bark was a bit awkward. However, after that, Cherie showed the bobcat that she is not someone he should take for granted. And, the pup’s effort worked, which seemed to be a complete surprise for Cherie. Understandably, this was because it was by far her bravest act.
After hearing the little dog’s bark, the bobcat realized that he was caught in his hiding spot. So, he decided to move along. According to experts, though, bobcats are shy animals. Usually, making noise enough to deter them, which helps humans and bobcats coexist safely.
Cherie seemed to know exactly what to do to protect her family from the “scary” bobcat. Thanks to her bravery, everyone in the house was unharmed. Now, Cherie proved that she is not only adorable but also reliable.
