For the people living in or near the Arctic Circle, it is that time of the year again, moose season!
Every year, a few videos pop up on the internet reminding us why we should be very scared of moose.
This year’s “close call with a moose” video was filmed in the “The Last Frontier” state of Alaska, where wild animals such as bears and moose constantly roam the streets of cities and villages, mingling with the people who live there.
It’s a Christmas Miracle! Dog leaps to the rescue to save this family’s Christmas.

Moose Attacks Are Common Up In The Arctic
In fact, wild animal encounters happen so frequently that in some areas of Alaska and Canada, they leave their car doors unlocked so that friends and neighbours can run away from the deadly animals.
But who needs a car to escape when you can have a feisty dachschund named Reecey come to the rescue?
The video starts off with a man wading through the snow in his yard to reach his mail. Due to his focus on getting the mail and the glare of the sun reflected by the snow, he doesn’t notice the young moose lurking across the street.
Unfortunately, the moose noticed the man and starts to charge at him. A collision between the man and the wild animal seemed inevitable.
But luckily for the man, Reecey was there and noticed the danger immediately. With powerful, lunging barks from Reecey and a scream of surprise by the man, the moose manages to stop inches away from crushing the man into his own truck.
After the close shave with death, the man and his dog quickly escapes from the wild animal back into the safety of their home.
