If you want to raise money for charity, this is the way you should do it.
Hilariously adorable photographs of dogs attempting to catch cubes of cheese have raised over ten thousand dollars for charity.
Carolyne Cowan from Scotland captured hilarious images of pups trying to catch cubes of cheese in order to raise money for hungry animals. There’s a pooch to suit everyone, from Dachshunds to Pugs to Beagles to Retrievers, there’s a dog with a goofball expression for every dog lover to enjoy.
Carolyne’s husband Alasdair assisted her in the project. His big task? Cut up about 22 pounds, or 10kgs of cheese into cubes. He is also in charge of the next important task: throwing the cheese to the dog. Carolyne then snaps away, getting roughly 50 pictures of each dog.
Carolyne says the work can be fast and furious, but funny at the same time.
Carolyne picks the best shots before selling them for the cause. She has already raised over $20,000 for local animal food banks so far.
But it’s not all glitz and glamor. Some dogs take a while to settle in, so Carolyne makes sure that the dogs feel comfortable before the photoshoot.
And she says that every dog has their own reaction. Some dogs just stare at her when she throws the cheese, confused at what is going on. Other dogs catch the cheese cleanly in their mouth on the first attempt. However, it’s the catch fails that makes for the most funniest pictures.
Carolyne is aiming to photograph at least 70 dogs at the next photoshoot. She has teamed up with UK’s Burns Pet Food for the project to provide food for hungry dogs.
It’s an initiative that benefits everyone. The ‘photo dogs’ get lots of tasty cheese, we get lots of cute and hilarious pictures, and charities get funds to help less fortunate dogs.
It’s a win-win-win situation for everyone.
