Your Dog Or Money?
Aussies aren’t afraid to dig deep into their pockets to purchase their furry friends either. Three out of four survey respondents said they paid more than $1000 to purchase their pup.
Unsurprisingly, most Australians would happily take a pay cut if it meant they get to spend more time with their pets.
Similarly, four out of five dog owners would be happy to pay an additional 5% on their rent if the house suited their dog perfectly.
Australia’s Biggest Dog Survey
The Great Australian Dog survey is an annual survey conducted by the dog food company Scratch. The survey was first commissioned in 2020 according to Scratch co-founder and CEO, Mike Halligan. This year’s survey garnered over 12,700 responses from dog owners all over Australia.
“Our society has changed a lot since our first survey back in 2020, so we wanted to follow up and see how the lives of Aussies dogs have changed as well,” Mr Halligan said.
“The results have left us laughing, crying, and a bit perplexed.”
