While out on walks in Clydebank’s local park, Trinny, a Border Collie, is helping to keep their neighbourhood park nice and clean.
The five-year-old pup collects any trash it finds on the floor and throws it in the closest trash can.
An Easy Process
Trinny’s owner Alanna Jackson said training Trinny to pick up and throw away rubbish was quick and simple, who has now turned it into a game.
Alanna is hoping that Trinny’s actions will serve as an inspiration for others to help keep their neighbourhood litter-free and clean.

“It first started when we noticed that there was a lot of rubbish on the route we normally take on our walks,” Alanna said.
“If she does not have a toy, she will sometimes pick up a bottle, prompting me to throw it for her.”
“As she was already picking things up by herself out on walks, I only had to train her to put them into the bin.”
When Alanna posted a video of Trinny’s new trick on social media, she gained the attention of locals. The video was intended to showcase how much litter was in the community.
“If something as small as this can encourage people to take part in caring for their local areas, then that is fantastic,” Alanna said.

“Hopefully, it will also encourage children to think twice before throwing rubbish on the ground thoughtlessly.”
Aside from cleaning up her community, Trinny has also earned an Expert Level certificate from the international canine training organization Do More With Your Dog for her ability to perform numerous tricks.
With proper training and guidance, Alanna believes that more people can teach their pets to develop environmentally-friendly habits.
“You can have some fun with it and shape it into different behaviors,” she suggested.
“You can encourage your pets to help keep their environment clean by having them clean up their own toy box and putting their toys away at home.”
“Who knows, maybe someday we might even form our own litter-picking dog gang!”
