Marco, a lovable pit bull, had quite a rough start in life.
When he was just a tiny puppy, he was diagnosed with a harsh skin infection and he barely had any hair.
Fortunately, GO Rescue Pet Adoption, a rescue group specifically for adopting homeless animals, learned about his past experiences and decided to take care of him.
The rescuers of the pet adoption center knew that Marco’s chances of getting a forever home were almost very slim to none. To make matters even worse, his eyesight wasn’t of any help.
The poor pit bull was suffering from horrible cataracts and the surgery would cost a ton of money.
Despite all his misfortunes, Marco’s life was about to change for the better!
A woman named Georgia Obenaus took just one look at him and she instantly had fallen in love. The pit bull definitely pulled a few of her heartstrings and she knew she ought to do something to find him a responsible family.
But before anything else, Marco needed to regain his eyesight.
So Obenaus started an online fundraiser to come up with a massive amount for his surgery. Many canine lovers lent a helping hand and donated to get Marco’s eyes fixed in no time.
As the donations poured in, the pit bull slowly regained his weight and some fur while his skin got better.
The day of his successful surgery came. As Marco was placed in the waiting room, he recognized the familiar scent of the lady who had cared for him.
It was Obeanaus!
And for the very first time, he could see the woman clearly too!
When word spread about Marco’s successful eye operation, an interested family hurriedly stepped up and offered to adopt him.
Their names were Ashley and Sara MacGinley. Surprisingly, they were one of the first in line to donate for Marco’s surgery fund.
Finally, after a lot of heartaches and terrible mishaps in life, Marco finally got the life he truly deserves. He is now one happy adventurous pooch who has a zest for life!
