A 17-year-old boy’s passion for helping abandoned and mistreated animals recently wowed everyone. His name is Eduardo, and he’s from Anápolis, Brazil. He started rescuing animals from his part of the world when he was nine. The desire to help these poor creatures has been with him since.
Eduardo’s friends and family have long known about his desire to rescue animals. Thanks to their undying support for the young activist, he was able to open the EduPaçoca Institute last April. Caioado’s dreams of putting up his own shelter finally came true!
A recreational daycare center
Eduardo strives to make the world a better place for everyone. Albeit young, he understands the miracles people ask from God wouldn’t mean anything if they don’t put in the work. This is why he’s been working hard to manifest his dream of putting up an animal shelter.
He looked for a house to rent and sponsors to help him out with the expenses. Eduardo goes to the shelter every single day. There are times when he would walk, and there are times when he would ride a bike just to be there.
The young activist makes sure that the dogs and cats know that they can stay with him if they don’t get adopted. The shelter doubles as a recreational center where Eduardo prepares the dogs for adoption. He does this by giving them attention and letting them engage in different activities.
Plans for the future
Eduardo can’t take in all stray cats and dogs because there isn’t enough space at the EduPaçoca Institute. He has plans for expansion in the future so he can rescue more elderly and abandoned cats and dogs. While the ultimate goal is of these animals to get adopted by loving families, he’s exerting all efforts to make them feel at home while waiting for that fateful day.
