Family Rescues Stray Dog That They Found Sitting On Their Patio Chair One Morning

Megan Hurley July 12, 2022

All of us would agree that dogs are incredibly smart and intuitive animals. One particular stray dog proved to be quite intelligent when it surprised a family by making itself right at home on the patio furniture.

When Amy Haden woke up early one morning, she was surprised to see a dog sitting on her family’s patio chair. The dog was quite comfortable, wagged his tail, and didn’t leave even when Amy and her family stepped outside to take a closer look. Most stray dogs would run away when someone they don’t know comes close to them. However, this particular stray dog wasn’t scared at all. He acted like he belonged to the family who found him.

Amy fed their unexpected guest and tried figuring out if the dog belonged to one of her neighbors. Amy assumed that the dog would go home by himself. However, a few days after finding the dog sitting comfortably on the patio chair, Amy kept seeing the dog on her patio. The dog seemed to make himself right at home in Amy’s yard. Amy knew that she needed to do something to help the dog find his way back home.

The first thing that Amy did was reach out to her community to determine if someone had lost a dog. She also took the dog to the veterinarian to be scanned for a microchip. Amy didn’t have any luck in finding the dog’s owner. She even posted on social media about the dog.

Amy’s neighbors stated that they’d seen the dog wandering around the neighborhood. They assumed that the dog was a stray since no one claimed him. Amy decided to name the dog Walker and continued taking care of him. She didn’t give up searching for his potential owner. Unfortunately, Amy had no luck finding Walker’s owner. She also knew that she needed to find a permanent solution.

Walker is a sweet dog, and Amy and her family would have loved to keep him. Unfortunately, Amy’s other dogs didn’t get along with him. She had to find a more suitable home for Walker. Thankfully, a sweet lady living nearby was looking for a dog. After hearing about her, Amy got in touch with the lady to see if she’d be interested in adopting Walker. Luckily, she was and was happy to welcome Walker into her home.

Thanks to Amy and her family, Walker found the best forever home that he could ever ask for. Any other family would have chased the dog away. However, Amy and her family were kind to Walker and treated him like a special guest. Here’s a video telling Walker’s heartwarming story.
