During a rainy hike with her father, Ivy, the Bernese mountain dog, decided that it was the perfect moment to take a mud bath.
The video capturing Ivy’s muddy adventure was shared on her TikTok account (@ivytheberner), and has already been viewed over 9.4 million times with more than 1.3 million likes.
The video begins with Ivy strolling innocently along a rain-soaked retaining wall. The caption reads, “throwback to that time I had no idea how I was going to get my dog home.”
The caption, along with the gloomy weather, hints at what is about to happen.
The incident unfolds in the next clip, where Ivy is seen lying face down in a giant puddle of mud.
Ivy’s dad behind the camera is clearly annoyed by her behaviour, but the Bernese mountain dog appears to be having the time of her life.
With a cheeky grin and a muzzle entirely coated in mud, she gleefully lifts her head up and looks at her owner.

Feeling adventurous, Ivy decided it would be fun to splash around some more, spinning in circles as she covered the entire part of her lower body with mud.
The caption of the video reads, “Me contemplating my life choices,” while Ivy continues immersing herself in the mud bath.
Once she decided that she had spun around enough, Ivy determined that her face was too clean for her liking. Therefore, she plunges her face into the mud a couple more times, ensuring that every part of her face is covered in mud.
Despite her subsequent attempt to shake off the excess mud, little is accomplished at this stage, leaving Ivy covered in a significant amount of mud.
Once Ivy is satisfied with the mud bath, she enthusiastically darts out of the puddle, sprinting toward her father while being entirely drenched in mud.
As if the situation could not get any worse for Ivy’s dad, he delivers a horrifying revelation on-screen: “I only brought one towel.”
At the end of the video, Ivy’s dad tells Ivy to look at him, and that’s when the audience gets a full look at the extent of Ivy’s ‘playtime’.
Her entire lower body is covered, with her paws and face, in particular, especially dirty. Her once pristine white fur coat now transformed into a deep shade of brown.
The ending caption sums up perfectly how all dog parents feel when their dog decides to bathe in mud:
