In a hilarious TikTok clip, a woman and her dog have defied the advice of their veterinarian, showcasing that Labradors are willing to eat just about anything.
Accompanying @rainden23’s video, a voice over can be heard saying, “medication my vet claimed would be very hard to get my dog to eat versus my lab.”
Sharing her comical experience, the woman recalls the vet’s advice, saying, “The vet suggested I wrap this thing in peanut butter or baloney, or maybe stuff it in a sausage, but then I remembered I have a Labrador”
“Now, if you know anything about Labs, you know they’ll devour absolutely anything. Just look at him drooling!”
She casually places the pill in the dog’s food bowl and sprinkles probiotic powder over it to ensure the antibiotics don’t upset the pup’s stomach.
Without hesitation, the dog devours the entire pill in a single bite, providing a perfect example of the video’s caption, “Labs be labbin.”
One viewer commented, “not a single thought behind those adorable eyes.”

What if my dog is a fussy eater?
For dog owners whose furry friends may be a bit more sensitive than the canine in the video, there are clever strategies to trick them into taking their medication.
VCA Animal Hospitals says that the easiest way to give your dog a pill is by concealing it in their food.
They suggest hiding the pill in a special treat, such as a small amount of canned dog food, cooked sweet potato, or a soft dog treat that can be molded around it.
To make sure that your dog actually ingests the pill, they recommend hand-feeding the medicated piece of food or treat.

However, it’s important to monitor your pet after giving them the medication, as some dogs may attempt to spit out the pill.
The animal hospital humorously adds that dealing with a particularly clever pet may result in finding a pile of pills behind a bed or couch!
In cases where your dog manages to evade the medication or has dietary restrictions that prevent the food trick, direct administration of the pill into their mouth may be necessary.
“Make sure you have read the prescription label thoroughly and understand the dosing instructions before proceeding with this method,” the VCA warns.
Labs will eat anything!
A viewer shared an intriguing insight, commenting, “In college, I discovered that the gene that makes labs super-friendly is also directly responsible for making them extremely-hungry. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve learned in college!”
Another viewer commented, “my foster pup didn’t like her medicine. But she would happily eat it out of my hand if I told her she was a good girl the entire time 😂😂!”
