Watch the heart-warming moment as a missing dog of eight years is reunited with her family.
Thanks to a tipoff from a member of the public, the Sussex Police, RSPCA, and other authorities conduct numerous raids in November in search of a stolen dog.
The family labelled the joyous reunion between Cassie the cocker-spaniel and the rest of her family as a priceless Christmas present. The authorities found Cassie alongside three puppies, two boys and a girl, who are thought to be hers.
The family uploaded a video capturing the moment Cassie returned home on social media. Prior to the reunion, the family was warned that the Cassie that was coming home might not be the one that the family remembered when she was still a puppy. But that didn’t stop the family from wanting to meet Cassie. Cassie was taken from them from the front garden of their home eight years ago.
On the sight of Cassie, the family swelled up with tears of joy. In return, Cassie wagged her tail enthusiastically as she was embraced with love and hugs.
The family is thankful to have Cassie back in their lives after eight long, arduous years. A family member said that Cassie has settled into her old home very well, and loves her daily walks. The three puppies found alongside Cassie were put up for adoption by the family. They have also settled in nicely in their new loving homes.

Protecting your loved ones
There has been an increase in the number of pets stolen during the pandemic due to the inflated prices of dogs. The inflated prices have also led to individuals breeding dogs purely to sell. People who are currently considering buying a puppy should think carefully about who they purchase the dogs from. You should take a look at where the puppies and the mother are kept to ensure that they are not suffering.
While there has been an increase in the number of dog thefts during the pandemic, the occurrence of it happening is still quite rare. However, there are simple precautions that you can take to put your mind at ease. This includes:
- Microchipping your pet and ensuring that their details are up to date.
- Never leaving your pet alone when you are out in public.
- Ensuring that your home and garden is secure, and making sure that your doors/gates are locked.
