Recently, rescuers discovered an adorable yet heartbreaking sight when they stumbled upon a dog sleeping on an active construction site. Thankfully, they were able to safely rescue the adorable pup.
Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy and dedicated dog rescuer, believes that the small pooch must have understood that it needed help, and that’s why it appeared at the hospital all on his own one night.
“He just showed up,” Hall said. “No one else was around.”

One night, a small puppy stumbled into a section of the hospital that was undergoing renovations. The construction workers who discovered him the following day had no clue as to where he had come from, but they were eager to assist him.
Initially, the workers attempted to capture the dog, who they later named Elliot. But he was too skittish and would dart away each time someone approached.
Time To Bring In A Professional
Despite multiple attempts that proved to be unsuccessful, the workers made the decision to seek out an experienced rescuer to help them in their mission to save Elliot. While they waited for assistance, they did their best to keep the dog content and comfortable.
“The workers gave him a blanket, which he would take and lay on every day,” Hall said.
The workers arranged food and water for the pup, and eventually they located Hall’s contact details. When they contacted her, she instantly ceased all other activities to come to the pup’s aid.

“When I arrived, Elliot was lying on the blanket that the workers had given him,” Hall said.
Hall realized the dog was timid, meaning she’d need to be cautious when approaching him. However, he didn’t give her an opportunity to get near.
Hall recalls that the pup immediately ran away when she spotted him. She said that he had gone into hiding, making him difficult to locate for a short time. Nevertheless, she was sure that he couldn’t have escaped.
After searching the site for a few hours, Hall decided to try and lure the pup into a trap using hot dogs.
“After two hours, he finally went into the trap,” she said.

Vet Finds Something Surprising
She took Elliot to the vet to get a better understanding of his health. He had a couple of infections so the vet treated them with some antibiotics.
However, they found something even more surprising in a routine scan.
“They ran an X-ray test and found a little spring inside Elliot,” Hall said. “Poor pup was so hungry he would just eat anything.”
Thankfully, Elliot was able to pass the spring on his own. He was now ready to go into a foster home.
Elliot, who was once shy, has been revelling in his new foster home since meeting his foster mom. His transformation has been remarkable.

“He was really scared at first. But now, he’s loving his new home,” Hall said.
Upon hearing of Elliot’s fondness for his blanket on the building site, his foster mom surprised him with a delightful present: a tower of blankets. Elliot was instantly obsessed with his new blanket mountain.
Elliot is still on the hunt for his forever home, but Hall is confident that it’ll happen soon.
“He’s just bubbly, cute and cuddly,” Hall said. “He is just the sweetest dog you’ll ever find.”
