Have you ever wondered which dog has the longest ears in the world? Well, you can stop wondering as we’ve got the answer!
The Guinness World Records has just awarded the title of the “Longest Ears on a Living Dog” to an American dog called Lou. Her ears measure at an incredible 13.38 inches in length, or 34 centimetres. That’s longer than an American football!
Lou was adopted by her owner, Paige Olsen, when Lou was still a little younger. Ms Olsen described the first meeting between the pair as love at first sight. Ms Olsen could not resist Lou’s beautifully long ears, and thus she brought her home.

Lou’s ears are a whopping 13.38 inches long!
While Olsen noticed Lou’s extremely long ears right away, she didn’t bother with measuring them until the pandemic gave her some free time from her work as a veterinarian. With more time staring at those beautiful long ears, she decided to measure their length. This led Olsen to nominate Lou for having the “Longest Ears on a Living Dog” to the Guinness World Record.
Apparently Lou isn’t bothered too much by her long ears. They don’t require any kind of special attention either aside from the general health check. Olsen also makes sure that Lou wears a dog snood during winter in order to keep her ears warm.
Olsen is hopeful this entry into the Guinness World Records encourages fellow pet owners to embrace the uniqueness of their pets. Just like a dog’s love for their owners, their owner’s love for their dogs should also be unconditional.
