Being a dog rescuer may not seem like a very stressful job compared to others, but it does come with its own challenges. Obviously, the main danger that they are facing is the possibility of a stray doggo biting them. Street dogs are pretty wary of strangers and there have been thousands of biting incidents involving rescuers and the furballs they are helping.
Another hurdle doggo rescuers have to face is the surroundings. Sometimes these people have to crawl under tight spaces, go through thick vegetation, and sometimes, they have to ward off spiders just to rescue a dog. In this rescue mission conducted by Hope for Paws, they saved a doggo that was surrounded by spiders.
Hope for Paws is a popular non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California. Their goal is to rescue as many stray doggos as they and find them forever homes. Hope for Paws was founded by Audrey and Eldad Hagar. They post their rescue missions on Youtube to raise awareness and gather support.
In this mission, they received a call about Shih Tzu hiding behind an abandoned house. Eldad and his trusty assistant, Loreta Frankonyte, rushed to the scene. Before they approached the pup, they planned their moves and sealed all exits. Yeah, you can tell that these guys are professionals.
Fortunately, despite the thick shrubbery, the team was able to put a gentle snare around the pup’s neck. Loreta hopped over the fence to collect the pooch. The Shih Tzu was reacting violently to Loreta’s presence, so she stayed there for a while, and allowed the doggo to sniff her hand. After Loreta gained the pup’s trust, they were able to scoop him up. After Loreta handed the doggo over to Eldad, she started cleaning herself up.
Loreta claimed that there were a lot of spiders surrounding the pooch. So they decided to name him “Spiderman.” The rescue pup was then brought to Foxy and the Hounds, another dog rescue group in California. They trained and socialized Spiderman, and not long after, someone adopted him! See Spiderman being rescued in the video below.
