War does terrible things to people and animals. In Ukraine, civilian casualties are on the rise as bombing continues in cities and villages continue. However, the heroic efforts of the Ukrainian police and firefighters don’t go unnoticed as they continue saving lives amidst the chaos.
In the village of Mykhailivka in Eastern Ukraine, a residential building was bombed and was in complete ruins. One of the residents in that building was a 77-year-old man who miraculously got out.
However, he was worried about his puppy that got trapped in the building and was now buried under the rubble.
The man was seen panicking that he couldn’t find his beloved dog. When police officers and firefighters saw the distraught man, they immediately went into action and started looking for his puppy.
Police, firefighters, and soldiers worked together to search for the puppy and they refused to give up even when everything seemed hopeless.
The building was completely in ruins and there was a big chance that the puppy didn’t survive. However, while the rescuers were looking for the puppy, they suddenly heard a squeal from under the rubble. When the rescuers realized that the puppy is still alive, they didn’t waste any time at all and started digging and clearing the area of debris.
After a few minutes of digging, the rescuers were able to dig out the puppy who was covered in dust. They worked fast and revived the puppy while the elderly man watched nearby. Thankfully, the rescuers were able to revive the puppy and reunite him with his owner.
One of the police officers who helped with the amazing rescue stated that their slogan is that every life is important. The puppy and the elderly owner were both treated for their injuries and they’re recovering well. The video below shows the horrors of war but it also shows that every life is precious.
Although people are suffering in the war, there’s always hope and kindness. It’s truly inspiring to see people showing kindness amidst a grim situation. Here’s a video showing the successful rescue of a puppy buried under a mountain of rubble.
