Since early this year, most countries around the world have imposed lockdowns and curfews in an attempt to contain the coronavirus. The new set up has not been easy, but, knowing the pandemic’s hazard, many people choose to follow.
Last month, the Dominican Republic also imposed local curfew laws to address the coronavirus pandemic. Reportedly, a man was arrested the other evening for breaking the said law. Thankfully, the arrestee had a faithful four-legged friend, who ensured that he would not be held at the police station for long.
After the man was caught breaking the said law, the police officers handcuffed him and took him to the police station for processing. Not long after, an unexpected visitor suddenly strolled through the doors, appealing for the man’s release. It was the arrestee’s dog, who happens to be an adorably persuasive advocate.
The police officers saw that the pup was so attached to his owners, which melted their hearts. Because of that, instead of putting the man behind bars, the authorities decided to release him. They did not want to keep the pair apart, so they only gave the man a warning.
In a video, police colonel José Francisco De La Cruz Mercedes explained why de decided to let the man go. According to him, the dog told him that the man was his. The officer could not say no to the pup. Mercedes said that this was the first time that he handed a prisoner to a dog.
The dog seemed to have planned it all, and, thankfully, it worked. Now, both the pup and his owner could not be happier. Hopefully, the man has already learned his lesson, and, from now on, he stays out of trouble. After all, the sweet, faithful dog expects nothing less from his best pal.
