We all have our own specific criteria when looking for dogs to adopt. For some people, a dog’s age factors heavily into the equation. Younger dogs are easier to train, but harder to take care of. On the flip side, older dogs are easier to look after, but you must have the financial capacity to pay for all their medical needs.
There are also people who prioritize the way a dog looks above all else. Dogs that look “normal” easily get adopted into loving homes. Those who don’t, however, have to wait an awfully long time. In some cases, they end up not getting adopted at all.
Such was the case for Zeke, a wonderful pooch who was struggling to find his forever home because of his looks. This shepherd-boxer mix has a congenital disability causing him to have an uneven smile.
Not quite
Does having a weird-looking smile make Zeke look less adorable? Well, no. His human pals at The Noah Center love him to bits because he’s extremely friendly and he loves spending a huge chunk of his day with them.
He’s a very sweet pooch and he loves getting hugs and kisses from his human friends. He also does a great job at cheering them up that’s why they bond with him whenever they need some positive juju.
They were all thrilled when a couple came in and adopted Zeke in the past. However, just a few months after, the couple returned the poor thing to the center. It turned out that they got into some problems and could no longer afford to take care of the furball.
Worth the wait
The staff wasted no time searching for a new family for Zeke. Their efforts were rewarded when, after around two months of waiting, a woman dropped by their center and adopted Zeke. They were thrilled to finally see their four-legged friend leave the center and be with his forever family.
