Joe Biden’s own personal dog is no longer welcomed in the White House due to a biting incident.
President Biden’s 3 year old rescue dog, Major, was involved in a biting incident earlier this week in the Capital House. But unlike the royal saga happening across the Atlantic, this situation is much more straightforward. It seems to be that a little bit of animal instinct kicked in at the wrong time.
Wrong Place, Wrong Time
Biden explained that Major had simply ran around the corner and immediately came face to face with two unfamiliar personnel. The two individuals made a slight movement, and Major’s animal instinct kicked in to protect himself. President Biden made sure to emphasize that almost everyone at the White House absolutely adores him.
While that may be true, it seems like separating Major and the individuals involved is a good idea. Major, and his older brother Champ, are currently residing in Biden’s Delaware. The pair were moved there shortly after the incident.
While Biden insists that the dogs were moved as both Biden and his wife Jill were going to be away from the White House for a couple of days, he also admits that Major may require some more training. Major was simply going back to the comfort of his home.
Both the President and his press secretary have guaranteed that the canines were going to be back at the White House soon, although no specific date was provided.
Major and Champ are the first animals to reside in the White House since the departure of Bo and Sunny in early 2017, alongside the then outgoing President Barack Obama. Ex-President Trump had no pets during his four year stay in the capital.
For Biden, getting his pets settled into the new environment was a priority early. They needed to get used to taking an elevator and having people watch them play on the lawn of the White House. These things are still very new to them.
A New Family Member?
Despite this incident, it seems that there is a high probability that there is going to be a new member in the Biden family fairly soon. The President and his family are planning on adopting a cat in the near future.
And trust me. When the newest member of the Biden family arrives, he/she is going to break the internet.
