A dog in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, travelled 20 blocks from home to a hospital where her owner was battling cancer. It may have been a coincidence, but we all know the amount of effort we go through to support our loved ones.
The dog was caught entering the hospital by a surveillance camera in the lobby. She began to wander around, seemingly looking for her owner.

Sissy At The Hospital
Sissy, a miniature Schnauzer, was the dog of Dale and Nancy Franck, the latter of whom had been at Mercy Medical Center for two weeks after her surgery. The pair have another dog, also a miniature Schnauzer called Barney back home.
The dog was simply on a mission to find her mom that night but just didn’t know which elevator to take, says Dale. He first noticed that Sissy was missing at about 1:30 in the morning on Saturday, and was expectly stressed. It wasn’t until 5:30 that he received a call from the hospital notifying him of Sissy’s grand adventure.
But it seems like Sissy managed to see her mom in the end. When Dale’s daughter went to pick up Sissy, she also got permission to let Sissy visit Nancy for a few minutes. Nancy, who has been undergoing chemotherapy at the hospital in her fight against uterine cancer, was just as surprised as Dale when she saw Sissy.
It is still unclear how Sissy travelled the 20 blocks, though Dale has a theory. While he has never taken the dog for a walk on that route before, Sissy used to ride with Dale to pick up Nancy from her work, which was next to the hospital.

Nancy Franck Was Recovering At The Hospital When Sissy Showed Up
It certainly appears that the pair has a strong relationship between them. The pair was first introduced to each other when Nancy purchased Sissy when Sissy was just 8 weeks old. Sissy, now 11 years old, came up to Nancy, scratched her leg and fell asleep pretty quickly on Nancy’s Shoulder. Nancy says that they didn’t pick the dog, the dog picked them.
