Our doggos love eating so much that they try to do almost anything just to get us to give them something to nibble on. Although this could be annoying for many dog owners, we think it’s actually cute, and we love it when our puppers blow our minds with what they can do just for a snack.
Early this year, an Australian Shepherd named Morty shocked the world when his incredible intelligence was put on display in a viral video. The premise of the video was simple. Morty’s dad will set a doggie treat in front of the pooch, and if Morty does not eat it while his human is away, he can have it later on as a reward.
Of course, a hidden camera was set in the room to record Morty’s behavior. It’s somewhat like the marshmallow test, where children are told that if they don’t eat the delicious marshmallow right away, they could have two marshmallows later. The only problem though with this version is that Morty knows where the treats are kept, and the pooch is just too smart.
Morty’s human grabbed a doggie treat from his drawer and then he set it on a small table next to his desk. He told his four-year-old pup not to eat it until he comes back. However, once the dog dad stepped out, Morty ate the treat right away! This was disappointing, but the pup’s next move blew our minds.
Morty went to the drawer where the treats were being kept and took one. The smart pooch then placed it on the small table just like his dad did, and then the pupper closed the drawer. Morty then set his head on the table next to the treat as if he was sad that he is not able to eat it.
When the dog dad came back, he celebrated his doggo passing the test. He then rewarded Morty with the treat that was on the table. Little did he know that it was Morty’s second treat already. It was kind of deceitful, but we don’t mind it. The clip just shows how smart doggos are and that they will do anything they can for some food.
