Penny was adopted around two years ago from the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem in Massachusetts. It was after she and also her 11 siblings were found in a box beside a dumpster.
Penny looked somewhat shy as a small puppy. The animal shelter thought that probably she’d never change. However, it’s definitely not the case.
Penny’s mom, Deanna Greenstein, said the shelter personnel, at first, told her that they thought Penny is such a shy and timid type of dog. They weren’t certain if she’d be responsible at home with a lot of commotion.
However, Greenstein only felt that attachment with Penny and knew she’s destined to be their family’s dog. She continued that Penny’s shyness was gone the second time she’s out of the animal shelter. It can be seen through their photos what kind of dog she became.
Penny is now a very mischievous, excitable, and goofy dog. She loves to live in a house with a lot of children. She always loves to get involved in everything.
When Greenstein began to brainstorm a family Christmas card, she wanted Penny to be part of it. However, as soon as the photoshoot started, Penny wasn’t in a cooperative state. She didn’t like to sit right next to her human siblings. Therefore, Greenstein chose to take pictures of the kids only.
But the goofy dog did not like it either.
Greenstein said Penny was offended that she wouldn’t be part of the photoshoot anymore. Maybe she got jealous of the kids. What she did instead was that she hopped in front of the camera (and on each kid), licking the phone, barking, “booping” Greenstein with her nose, and causing a commotion. Greenstein ended up taking maybe about a hundred photos within a 20-minute duration at a photo shoot.
Greenstein and her children settled down right after to view all of the pictures. They couldn’t help but laugh at Penny and her funny “poses.” As they flipped through each of the pictures and contained the amusement of it all, they finally came up with the best thought.
Greenstein said her children helped her choose which photos they would use on their card. Then, all of them together decided to send the card from Penny, with them as her company.
They all hoped their silly card would bring a little Christmas joy to everybody, including their dad, who wasn’t told about the card until it got to him.
According to Greenstein, they did not inform her significant other regarding the card. They just let him pick it up at Walgreens later. She continued that her husband said she just sat in the parking area, laughing out loud when he unboxed it.
People had begun receiving the family’s Christmas card during the holiday. Everybody loved it very much. They liked it that Penny was the real star. Probably, Penny herself had been so happy that her naughty gesture had brought everybody a lot of laughter.
