Have you ever wondered why are dogs so friendly?
It could be because of evolution. Our ancestors chose to keep dogs that are friendly and bred them with other friendly dogs to make even friendlier dogs.
Science hasn’t been able to figure it out either. Some think it comes down to special gene variants, while others believe that they may have been domesticated twice.
Even if we don’t know why dogs are one of the friendliest animals on Earth, we can all agree that they are. And here’s a story to prove it!
An unlikely friendship was formed between an adorable French bulldog and a New York police horse! This unlikely friendship was captured and uploaded to Youtube, with more than 5.6 million views.
The video starts with a view of a brown police horse surrounded by a fairly large crowd. But look a bit closer and you’ll see a French bulldog excited to join in on the fun. The cute pup excitedly jumps up and down, desperately trying to get the horse’s attention. While the horse remains composed, you can tell the pup has definitely gained his interest.
Next, the video shows the dog jumping up to the horse to greet him. They sniff each other to say hello. While the dog is slightly hesitant about being too close to such a large animal, he soon gets comfortable.
The little French bulldog could hardly suppress his excitement, bouncing around euphorically: doing spins and flips in the mid-air! During all this excitement, you can hear people in the background discussing this newfound friendship. Phrases like “they’re best friends now!” And “that is so cute!” sums up the scene perfectly.
As stated earlier in the article, dogs are extremely friendly and social animals, so seeing them form bonds with other animals isn’t rare. Here’s some other horse-dog friendships:
