Unfortunately, even the most innocent creatures are sometimes stricken with the worst luck. But sometimes, it’s only a matter of seeing things from a different angle. That is precisely what one Canadian family is doing.
Kipper is a Chocolate Lab with one of the most incredible sets of parents on the planet. Kipper’s father used to be a stand-up comedian. Clayton Kroeker would make fun of dog owners and the way they pamper their pets in one of his skits.
Clayton and his wife adopted Kipper, and one small puppy changed their lives. Kipper had a problem with one of her tear ducts when she was only a year old. Unfortunately, she began to lose her vision.
Kipper’s parents did not give up on Kipper’s condition. Kipper received a series of tests, a few surgeries, and several months of love and care. They were ultimately unable to save her sight, so it was removed to avoid further discomfort.
They believed the worst was over. Kipper, on the other hand, began experiencing the same problem in her remaining eye this year. Her condition reduced her vision to less than 20%, so her parents were determined to make the most of it.
Kipper and her family packed their belongings and hit the road. The trio traveled across Canada for ten days, stopping at dairy farms and other pleasant sites that any dog would enjoy. They made an effort to stay outside both as a COVID precaution and so Kipper could take in the scenery.
Some may consider a 10-day vacation for a dog to be excessive. Kipper’s family does not consider it absurd, especially given all she has done for them. Kipper’s father even made their TikTok videos to document their trips.
Kipper had hoped to become a big sister early this year, but Kipper’s parents experienced a miscarriage. They were heartbroken, but Kipper jumped in to try to cheer them up.
Kipper’s father remarked that Kipper is more than “simply a pet” but rather his best friend. He feels he will never repay her for assisting him and his wife through one of their worst times.
