People disappearing is no laughing matter. Be it aliens or secret government organizations, some individuals just seem to vanish into thin air. But for this viral video, you can laugh all you want. There are no aliens or sunglass-wearing government agents in this clip, so you can relax.
What’s in the video is just a curious French bulldog and his dog dad who is some kind of a trickster. Doggos love playing, and fetch is arguably their favorite game to play. They love recovering objects for us because, well, that was the very first job we gave them thousands of years ago when we hunted in the forests.
Nowadays, there are no rabbit carcasses involved in this “retrieving” job, and it’s now just a way for them to get exercise and kill boredom. However, this dog dad from Dublin, Ireland, decided to put a little twist in their game of fetch, and it’s just too hilarious and adorable not to share.
The star pupper in this clip is Toby. The French bulldog is one of those celebrity doggos on Instagram, and he’s got over 147,000 followers on the platform. More than being an internet celebrity, Toby loves his human. So much so that just losing sight of him is a tragedy for the pupper.
In the viral video, Toby’s human was playing fetch with him, but as soon as he threw the toy, the dog dad hid under the blanket in front of him. For some reason, Toby did not retrieve the toy and looked back at his dad who was no longer there. The curious pooch forgot about the game and investigated.
Toby kept on looking at the blue blanket, but he wasn’t convinced that his dad was underneath it, that’s why you could see him looking around. But a few seconds later, the pooch locked in on the blanket. Perhaps he started to smell his dad’s scent. The video was cut off but we could tell that this smart pooch definitely busted his dad’s Houdini act.
