A puppy is just like a kid. Both often act before they think, and both easily get distracted. It’s not like they want to – it’s more like they let their emotions guide them.
That’s precisely what happened to this Golden Labrador Retriever named Maggie. Her survival instincts were in overdrive, and she did what she thought was right to protect herself.
The potential enemy was a colorful stuffed duck. It was on the bed, and by how Maggie reacted to it, it was probably new. Perhaps Maggie’s owner bought it as a surprise for her.
At first, the curious puppy observed the new toy. It didn’t do anything except lay on the bed by the window, but for some reason, Maggie thought the stuffed toy meant danger.
After a bit of hesitant action, the adorable doggo jumped on the bed. She rushed towards the ducky, and then pounced on the perceived enemy.
After holding the stuffed toy in her mouth for a bit, Maggie dropped the toy. She picked it up once more, but when there was no resistance, she let it go altogether.
Something outside caught her attention, and that distracted her from her current conquest. We will never know what got Maggie interested in, but at least, the duck was clear.
Maggie’s owner giggled at her pet’s antics. Having a puppy assures a fur parent of these kinds of silliness, and it happens more often than not.
The puppy might have boosted her confidence in taking the bad guys on, so even if this case was a harmless duck, it’s worth the pup’s efforts.
At least now, she knew that she could spring to action, and her mighty jaws could take any bad guy down, so we’re here for it.
You were brave, Maggie. A little distracted, but brave. Don’t stop taking on challenges in the future, hear?
