How do you define family? Well, the story of this kitten and a loving dog proves to us that family isn’t just about blood and genetics. It is a bond formed on love and compassion.
Alley Cat Rescue, from the name itself, is a group dedicated to rescuing kittens in distress. Early last year, James, a white and grey kitten, and Jacobi, an orange tabby found a safe haven. Judging from where and what they’ve been through, the feline brothers are dependent on each other. They are always together, cuddling and snuggling all the time. What more admiring is that they are not elusive, they know how to interact with dogs and people.
After they bounced back to health, they were sent to a foster home where Pickles, a hearing-impaired dog awaited them. He, same as the kitten, faced a challenging early life. This made him a soft and compassionate dog. Whenever there is a new foster in their house, he showers them with hugs and kisses and welcomes them with love. Instantly, James and Jacobi became at ease with Pickles’ presence.
Though they are of different species, this extraordinary dog made the cute kittens feel at home. And the felines’ feeling is mutual- they both love and adore Pickles. This trio became the best of friends. They play together and show affection towards one another. Pickles became the big brother who watched these two playful kittens. Though they are naughty and full of energy all the time, he didn’t mind them, instead, he let the two enjoy their playtime.
James and Jacobi have different personalities. James is the quiet one while Jacobi is the free spirit. This is what made them even more special.
Through Pickles loving nature, the kittens grew up to be healthy and happy teenage cats who eventually found a new home. Indeed, pure and undiluted love is what we all need.
